As season 2 of Bold Company approaches, I'm LOVING As season 2 of Bold Company approaches, I'm LOVING revisiting some gems from season 1.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like episode 2 with Dayna of @daynaleecollection. AMAZING. So incredibly inspiring. If you haven't listened in yet, I highly recommend it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of my favourite tidbits from this episode was her advice for "making it" as a maker 👉 "Keep going. Don't give up! You'll find your own way."

I especially love the tulips as a prop (you all know how much I love a good plant prop 😆).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also love how soft and beautiful the light is, how she's showing (*subtly*) that there are multiple colour options, and she's also showing the size and scale of the handbags by including tulips, which are a commonly recognized size.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Brilliant! Love it, Maja! ❤️

Show of hands - does winter squash your creativity Show of hands - does winter squash your creativity? 🙋🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me the answer is YES. Winter is naturally a period of dormancy... and I think our creativity knows.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As many of you many know if you've been following my difficult creative journey, simply feeling the desire to be creative is a comfort for me, because I went through a long period of time where I didn't feel like I even wanted to (or could be) be creative.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And this winter, at the very least, I feel a yearning and desire to be creative. And THAT is a huge feat for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But it's not easy to put into practice. It's drab and dreary outside, there's too much snow and ice to venture into the forest or to the beach, which is where I feel the most inspired.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I have discovered is the value of "micro-creativity", a term I've coined to describe engaging in small acts of creativity to fuel our larger creative practices.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Examples of micro-creativity include things like baking, reorganizing a shelf or corner of your home, colouring with your children, journalling, picking out new paint colours for a room in your home, planning out your garden plot for the summer, dancing abashedly to your favourite song, drawing a luxurious bath, and so on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can fit even small acts into our daily lives to keep the flow of creativity going, even if it is just a trickle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll be talking more about micro-creativity and my creative journey in the upcoming season 2 premiere of my podcast, Bold Company, on March 10th! 🎉🎉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What acts of micro-creativity can you commit to today? 👇
One of my favourite ways to style product photos, One of my favourite ways to style product photos, including wall art - sit of a shelf or tabletop, with relevant props (that are either much smaller or just peeking in from outside the frame, so as to not pull focus).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you ever tried this approach to style photos? Would you?

Ever think about how your environment affects your Ever think about how your environment affects your work, creativity, and productivity?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you think better when your workspace is tidy, or do you function best in organized chaos?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you have a special playlist you listen to when you work?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you set up your space before you get down to business?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here's what I need to work most effectively:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Tidy office
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Warmth!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Ambient light
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Spotify (my go-to playlist for working is video game/fantasy ambience)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ A burning candle (recently switched to these all-natural soy + EO candles from @newscotlandcandleco - SO GOOD)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ A big glass of water!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Having everything ready and in order helps me focus, *enjoy* my work time, and creates a sweet little haven where my ideas and creativity can flow.

What do you need for your perfect workday?
I'm just gonna leave this here. 😎 That's right I'm just gonna leave this here. 😎
